Filling stations become bank branches _2010-05-05

Using KEBA terminals, the Erste Bank and Sparkassen have introduced banking services to 170 OMV filling stations with VIVA shops in Austria.

As of now, customers at all OMV filling stations with VIVA shops in Austria can not only buy petrol and go shopping, but also complete their banking business in peace. This has become possible due to a unique strategic partnership between the Erste Bank, the Sparkassen and OMV.

OMV can thus offer its customers an extended range. As with the addition of banking, which is right in line with the trend towards one-stop shopping, its filling stations with VIVA shops have evolved into multifunctional service centres.

For the Erste Bank and the Sparkassen this project opens up a completely new sales channel and the 170 additional service points supplement their existing branch networks.

Moreover, as a customer incentive, the Erste Bank and the Sparkassen are offering simple products at special conditions. For example, a savings card with an especially attractive interest rate is available exclusively at the OMV filling stations with VIVA shops.

As a long-established partner to the Erste Bank and the Sparkassen, KEBA has supplied the banking terminals for this service. Using the company’s KePlus X6 terminals, routine banking activities such as the deposit and withdrawal of notes and coins, the completion of transfers, or enquiries regarding account balances, can be completed simply and quickly on a self-service basis.
