Energie Steiermark relies on electricity charging stations from KEBA _2010-07-29
The company Energie Steiermark is investing in electric mobility and in the first phase is installing 20 KEBA KeContact charging stations in Styrian conurbations. The company Energie Steiermark AG, the fourth largest energy company in Austria, is increasing its investment in electric mobility. The objective: to make commuter, shopping and works traffic “greener”. The intention of the charging stations is to make it easier for Styrians to change over to the electric bicycle or electric scooter for short journeys, which do after all make up the major proportion of car traffic. In the first phase Energie Steiermark will make provision for the necessary infrastructure by installing 20 charging stations in Graz and in the major regional cities.
They are investing in KEBA KeContact charging stations, by means of which all kinds of electrically powered vehicles, such as cars, motor scooters, bicycles, Segways and wheelchairs, can be easily charged.
Safe and easy to operate
“KeContact is highly suitable for use in public areas”, Gerhard Luftensteiner, CEO of KEBA AG, explains. “Extensive safety features, such as personal protection devices, mains connection only during the charging process, automatic cut-out in the event of load loss, as well as protection against overloads and electrical defects, guarantee comprehensive personal protection.” In addition, the clear and simple user guidance by means of display and functions enables intuitive, user-friendly and fast operator control.
Important features
The integrated user registration, which takes place via a magnetic card, makes each charging process clearly comprehensible, the purchased energy being able to be quickly and easily billed and paid for.
KeContact flex has a card reading module that has been tried and tested many times over through its use in KEBA cash dispensing machines. The billing and payment takes place after the electrical charging at the actual charging station. The energy obtained can be quickly and easily determined and called off by means of a network connection and a comprehensive logging system.
For this project Energie Steiermark guarantees in public areas the supply reliability of electric bicycles, pedelecs and electric scooters, which are now already in widespread use.
