Opel Ampera “fills up” with energy at a KEBA power charging station _2010-03-01

The moment arrived in February. The first KEBA power charging station in Germany was commissioned right in front of the entrance to the Opel headquarters in Rüsselsheim and immediately put into successful operation.

In future, the E-road star from Opel will obtain its power via KeContact, the KEBA power charging station. (Source: www.gmeurope.info)
The KeContact station was installed for the charging and presentation of the Opel Ampera electric road star, which made its public debut at the IAA 2009 international motor show. This initial prototype used the new station for the first time when it charged up its batteries for the drive from Rüsselsheim to the International Motor Show in Geneva. This allowed the Ampera to complete the initial phase of its roughly 600 km journey without any CO2 emissions.
