KePlast control systems are specifically designed for use with plastics machinery. The product line covers the entire spectrum of applications ranging from simple hydraulic injection molding machines, to complex multiple-component systems with process-integrated robotics. Completely pre-configured packages are available for every performance class and individual specific automation solutions for OEMs can also be realised.
One platform – many performance classes
Irrespective of whether as a single-board computer or a modular system, all KePlast control systems are based on a control platform that can be scaled consistently. Programming is completed in a uniform, modular development environment and the operating concept and scope of services are adapted to respective machine performance. The customer receives an optimally configured control system for each machine.
An industrial solution with an application framework
The KePlast product line consists of standard components from the Kemro K2 component system (the KEBA integrated system for the automation of machines and robots) and hardware and software solutions that have been developed exclusively for the plastics industry. These include specific technology modules and customised panels, as well as software libraries specifically designed for injection molding machines and optimised start-up and service tools. KePlast software libraries already contain all the components required for the creation of a total application for molding machines. KePlast also provides a preprogrammed application, which enables basic injection molding machine success in the shortest possible time. The application frameworks can either be taken over directly by the OEM, or customised.
Tools for handling and electrical injection molding machines
 KePlast control systems from the i5000 series facilitate operation of the handling program and injection molding application using a single hardware unit. An efficient teach-in programming system provides fast and simple adaptation of the robot operation online, i.e. directly on the machine. The mobile operator device required for teaching the robot comes from the KeTop range and is also compatible with all KePlast controls. By including its own servo-drives and motors, a fully electric injection molding machine can already be realised with the KePlast control systems from the i2000 series.
Future-oriented technologies
KePlast combines the classic strengths of PLC technology (real-time operation, industrial suitability and stability) with the advantages of modern PC and Internet technologies (Ethernet, USB, multimedia, Java). In this way, each compact control (even the simplest) has a networking capability and can be extended by individual system components, or if required, by a mobile operator terminal with an extended range of functions. The PC-based hardware architecture offers high technological security, the shortest possible timeto- market and investment protection for the future.
