Instead, the smartphone has developed into a versatile communication tool that has become an indispensable part of our modern world. And of course, digitalisation has not stopped at banking. The mobile phone has become a "digital wallet" that enables us to make cashless payments or conduct banking transactions on the go. And: the smartphone also takes on an important and hardly imaginable function as an access control - whether to a digital or physical location.
Branch structure and the bank branch of the future
The banking industry has evolved steadily over the past decades. Two factors that have significantly shaped this change? Digitalisation and self-service. As technological developments have progressed, the traditional bank branch has transformed into a modern financial services centre offering a wide range of diverse services. But the transformation is far from complete. Digitalisation and self-service continue to change the way banking is done. That's why we asked ourselves: What will the bank branch of the future look like? In this article, we would like to shed light on this question from different angles and provide possible answers.
KEBA grows by 3% in a dynamic environment to a new high of 553.5 million euros
The KEBA Group, headquartered in Linz, increased its sales from 537.7 million € to 553.5 million € in the past business year (April 2022 - March 2023). This corresponds to a sales growth of approximately 16 million € or 3% . Looking at the last five years, the average annual growth is around 17% (CAGR).
Digital accessibility: What the EAA regulation means for self-service in banking
Already in 2019, Directive (EU) 2019/882 on accessibility requirements for products and services, better known as the "European Accessibility Act (EAA)", has been adopted. While the directive has different names in different EU member states, the challenges are the same for all states: Many questions have arisen with it. Because how exactly accessibility is to be implemented is not described in the regulation. The manufacturers of self-service machines are obliged to deal with the EAA regulation and to develop products that meet the requirements.

Bright and friendly, the Linzerie in the heart of the Upper Austrian capital Linz invites you to shop and linger. In the modern self-service branch of Sparkasse Oberösterreich, which is located to the left of the main entrance, all money matters can be carried out easily and conveniently on one's own. The completely barrier-free, accessible self-service branch offers the highest level of comfort with two frameless cash recycling ATMs from KEBA integrated into the wall. The installation form offers people with a walker or in a wheelchair a user-friendly and discreet way to conduct their cash transactions.
Commerzbank invests in 800 ATMs from Austrian company KEBA
Commerzbank is investing in its modern branch equipment and will gradually install 800 new ATMs in its nationwide branches until 2024. Again, the devices exclusively come from Austrian automation expert KEBA AG and combine deposit as well as withdrawal of banknotes and coins.

2000th cash recycler of the evo series in use at the Salzburger Sparkasse
Since 2002, the Salzburger Sparkasse and automation specialist KEBA are closely connected: at that time, the first KePlus self-service machines were installed at the financial institution with headquarters in the Mozart city of Salzburg. After almost 20 years, the two traditional Austrian companies can celebrate a special anniversary: the 2000th cash recycler of the evo series automates cash deposits and withdrawals at the Maxglan branch in the city of Salzburg.

There are many access systems, but only few are secure enough that access to a bank branch can be controlled with it. KEBA, the automation specialist based in Linz/Austria, is launching a new generation of an access and foyer management system which not only controls the door but also lights, audio and much more.
Simple and secure: contactless technology makes its way onto ATMs
Linz/Urfahr. Raiffeisenlandesbank Oberösterreich AG and the automation specialist KEBA AG are setting new standards in cash automation with an innovative cooperation project. Since December 2019, a new cash dispenser, which is fully based on NFC technology, has been located directly at the KEBA AG headquarter in the Urfahr business park.

The 1,000th evo has found its home at the Frankfurter Sparkasse
The Frankfurter Sparkasse and KEBA can look back at a long and extremely close partnership. For seven years, KEBA has provided cash-recycling technology to the traditional Frankfurt institution. Now, the 1,000th evo series cash recycler is also finding its new home in Frankfurt am Main.

KEBA’s 500th cash recycling ATM from its new evo series is now operational at a branch of Credito Cooperativo Friuli in sunny Italy
KEBA’s 500th evo series cash-recycling ATM has found a new home at a branch of the bank Credito Cooperativo Friuli ("CrediFriuli") located in Manzano, a town in north-eastern Italy known for its Triangolo della Sedia business district. This important milestone was celebrated together with representatives from the bank, which has branches spread throughout the major tourist destinations of a region that stretches from the hilly Tarvisio area down to the seashore.
Comfortable cash deposits in the fresh air
The Erste Bank and Sparkasse are now offering this service using the new outdoor cash recycler ATMs from KEBA, which naturally enough still allow money to be withdrawn. KEBA recently installed three outdoor ATMs with cash recycling function for the Sparkasse in Dornbirn and an outdoor cash recycler KePlus FT10 can also be found at the Erste Bank self-service branch in Wiener Neudorf (Vienna).
The (r)evolutionary evo series introduces itself

The bank automation expert KEBA, based in Linz/Austria, has scored a major success within the Raiffeisen group Austria: KEBA is to become the exclusive supplier of non-cash terminals (account service terminals) and cash recycling systems.
