We are aligning our systems

To align our ERP system landscape within the KEBA group, we will migrate to SAP in our German production site (KEBA Industrial Automation Germany GmbH). Our target go live date is April 1st 2025.

This initiative is an important milestone to have a common ERP system in all KEBA plants worldwide and will enable KEBA to strengthen our efforts to provide more transparency with increased digitization of our processes.

We will start the data transfer on March 24th, 2025, and anticipate completion by mid of April 2025. During this period, we will face a slowdown in production and delivery capabilities as well as in the reception of deliveries.
To bridge this gap and strengthen your supply chain, we recommend and strongly encourage our customers to plan your demands for the period between mid-March to mid-April. In order to make this phase without any disturbance for our suppliers, our dispatchers will adjust our demand dates accordingly.

Frequently asked questions

Do you have questions about the SAP migration? We have compiled answers to the most frequently asked questions for you here.

Do the article numbers/material numbers change?

es, the article numbers will be different in SAP.

In the previous numbering system, the article number was directly related to the product and its characteristics and therefore had different formats and characters. This system will be discontinued and replaced by a 6-digit, numerical material number that has no reference to the product or its characteristics.

Do customer material numbers also change?

No, the customer material numbers are transferred completely and unchanged to SAP.

What happens if a customer orders with an old article number / material number?

During order entry, the old article numbers are translated to the new material numbers. The order is entered and processed in the system with the new material number. The customer receives an order confirmation on which both the old and the new material numbers are printed.

Do the serial numbers change?

Jes, the serial numbers will be different in SAP.

In the previous numbering system, the serial number consisted of 9 characters and was directly related to the product and its manufacturing data (yyww...).

This system will be dropped and replaced by an 8-digit, numerical serial number that has no reference to the product or its manufacturing data.

Serial numbers that have already been assigned will be retained, but "old" devices will also receive a "new" SAP serial number. This new SAP serial number is only used when the devices are sent to KEBA (usually for repair).

Will the customer numbers change?

Yes, the customer numbers will be different in SAP.

The customer number in SAP consists of 6 digits, no longer 9. The SAP customer number has no relation to the Infor LN customer number.

Customers who already have an SAP customer number from the Linz plant also adopt this customer number in the Lahnau plant.

How will customers be informed about the new numbers?

The new numbers will be printed on the respective sales documents.

A comparison of the "old" and "new" numbers can be requested from our sales team if required.

To what extent are customers who are supplied exclusively via the Linz plant affected by the SAP implementation in the Lahnau plant?

Customers who are supplied exclusively via the Linz plant may also be affected by the changeover. However, this only applies to customers who purchase products from the D3-DA or D3-DP series. For further information, please contact your sales representative.

Will the customer receive new order confirmations for deliveries from April?

No, not across the board. No new order confirmation will be sent for orders for which an order confirmation has already been created and sent from Infor LN. Of course, this only applies if the delivery dates do not change. In the event of postponements, customers will receive an updated order confirmation from SAP with adjusted delivery dates.

Do the agreed conditions change (prices, delivery terms, etc.)?

No, the agreed conditions do not lose their validity as a result of the system change and are transferred to SAP.

Does the layout of forms (quotations, order confirmations, invoices, etc.) change?

Yes, all documents will look different in the future.

Are type and packaging labels changing?

There are minor changes to the layout for the majority of the labels. The contents remain the same. For more information, please contact your sales representative.

Will the offers already submitted from Infor LN remain valid?

Yes, the offers are valid according to the deadlines indicated on the document.

How does KEBA deal with urgent spare parts requests or delivery date delays during SAP implementation?

If you have specific requirements, please get in touch with your contact person in our order center.

Will the system change result in changes to invoicing and dunning?

The invoicing and dunning processes and contact persons remain unchanged. However, as in all other areas, the document layout will also change here.
