How our AI assistance system ensures well-being without revealing personal data

How data protection works with KeBob

Moderne Bankfiliale mit Personen an Geldautomaten, KI-Assistent KeBob im Einsatz und Kunden beim Betreten durch Glastüren.
A system that makes your shop more secure while handling data responsibly - is that possible? Yes, with KeBob! The AI-supported assistance system was developed from the outset not only for maximum security, but also for the highest data protection standards. This is because responsible handling of the technology used and the data generated during use is particularly important to us at KEBA.

What KeBob really sees and what it does with the recordings

KeBob uses video data. However, in a different way than you might expect, as the system only analyses live video streams captured by connected cameras in real time. These live images are used to intelligently recognise safety-relevant situations, such as when a person is lying on the ground. This video data is not stored permanently as standard. In addition, anonymisation of the faces in the live images is activated in the standard configuration.

In which cases is something saved?

In certain situations, the operator may explicitly want images or video sequences to be saved.

Example 1: Incident with notification
If a critical situation is recognized (e.g. a person is lying motionless on the floor), the system can send a single image of the scene to a previously defined contact point. Here too, the faces are anonymised by default and identification is not possible.

Example 2: Recording expressly requested
If an operator wishes to use KeBob as a video surveillance system, recording can be specifically activated. In this case, anonymisation is also deactivated. The storage duration of the recordings depends on the operator's data protection requirements.

Important: The decision on the type and scope of recording always lies with the operator. KeBob is flexibly configurable and can be integrated into existing security and data protection guidelines in compliance with data protection regulations.

What's the point?

KeBob was developed to recognise dangers at an early stage and actively protect both people and property. This involves not only classic risks such as robberies or vandalism, but also health emergencies. For example, the system recognises when a person suddenly falls to the ground and can then automatically and immediately call for help. The data processing therefore serves only one purpose: protection.

KeBob proves that digital security and data protection are not a contradiction in terms.

Data protection meets innovative technology

KeBob proves that digital security and data protection are not a contradiction in terms. The system recognises risks in real time, reacts precisely to suspicious situations and protects the privacy of everyone in the monitored area. And it is precisely because KeBob handles sensitive data so transparently that it is the best choice for many banks, companies and public institutions. After all, it's not just about security, but also about trust.
