Citizen Service Box in Unterschleißheim

Since March 2025, the City of Unterschleißheim has expanded its range of services with an additional digital solution: the newly introduced Citizen Service Box enables residents to securely and flexibly collect official documents such as ID cards and passports – independently of city hall opening hours.

Digital documentation and seamless traceability of all handovers provide the administration with a reliable and transparent data basis. Usage figures for the collection stations as well as the status of completed citizen applications are available at any time, enabling more efficient deployment and resource planning.

Citizen Service Box in Uttenreuth

In 2025, the Administrative Community of Uttenreuth near Erlangen introduced Middle Franconia’s first Citizen Service Box. It enables residents to collect or submit official documents such as passports and ID cards without the need for an appointment – similar to a parcel locker system. The solution is seamlessly integrated into the existing AKDB software and relieves both citizens and administrative staff through more efficient processes. In the future, 24/7 operation is planned, and the box may also be used for additional municipal processes, such as key handovers.
