Robotics in Packaging
End-of-Line
Robotics, machine, and process on one platform
Robotics as part of the overall system
Machine and plant builders in the packaging industry can use Kemro X and the KeMotion robotics technology module to integrate robotics directly into machine automation. Robotics, PLC, motion, and safety are implemented on a common control platform. This allows robot movements, machine axes, and process functions to be coordinated within a consistent automation architecture.
Especially in packaging end-of-line applications, where different robot kinematics, machine axes, and process steps need to work together, this approach reduces additional system boundaries and interfaces. Machine and robot logic can be developed together, while changes can be implemented within a consistent engineering environment.

Integrated robotics control
With the KeMotion robotics technology module, different robot kinematics can be integrated directly into machine automation with Kemro X. Robot movements, machine axes, and process functions are programmed and coordinated within the same control environment.
Control Different Robot Kinematics Centrally
Whether for pick-and-place, handling, packaging, or palletizing, different robot kinematics are used in packaging end-of-line applications depending on the task. With KeMotion, up to 16 robots with different kinematics can be controlled centrally within a single system.
Program Robots and Machines Together
Process-related functions such as gripping, positioning, or sorting can be defined together with robot movements and machine logic. KeMotion is based on an open real-time Linux architecture and supports IEC 61131-3 as well as C and C++.
EtherCAT, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, OPC UA, and secure web APIs are available for system integration.
Test Machine Processes Virtually
The control software can be run on a standard PC and connected to digital twins even before physical commissioning. This allows motion sequences, cycle times, and process logic to be tested and optimized at an early stage.

What KeMotion makes possible
Robotics requirements in packaging end-of-line applications are diverse. KeMotion provides a consistent foundation for flexible, integrated, and open automation solutions.
Consistent engineering
Robot movements, machine axes, and process functions can be coordinated within the same control environment. Machine and robot logic can be mapped within a common sequence structure, allowing changes to be implemented consistently throughout the system.
Flexible robot kinematics
From delta robots, top loaders, and duo robots to 6-axis robots, different kinematics perform specific tasks in packaging end-of-line applications. With KeMotion, up to 16 robots with different kinematics can be controlled centrally within a single system.
Fewer interfaces
Virtual optimization
The control software can be run on a standard PC even before physical commissioning. Using digital twins, motion sequences, cycle times, and process logic can be tested and optimized at an early stage.
Open architecture
The open real-time Linux architecture supports IEC 61131-3 as well as C and C++. Standard industrial protocols and web interfaces enable integration into higher-level system architectures.
