How AI, hardware and software work together in KeBob to create an intelligent security system

A Look Behind the Scenes: KeBob’s System Architecture

How do you build an intelligent security system that not only detects situations but also actively responds? Traditional security solutions often reach their limits here: they capture data, but usually leave evaluation and response to humans. This is exactly where KeBob comes in. With KeBob, KEBA combines advanced AI software with a sophisticated system architecture – creating a solution that not only makes situations visible, but also analyzes, evaluates, and responds to them in real time. The goal: a system that understands correlations, identifies risks at an early stage, and automatically initiates the appropriate actions – actively contributing to greater security and efficiency in semi-public areas such as bank foyers.

A System That Understands – Not Just Observes

At the core of the KeBob solution lies a clear approach: not just collecting data, but interpreting it intelligently.

Integrated AI and computer vision technology analyze video data in real time, detect situations, assess risks, and automatically trigger appropriate actions. This transforms traditional surveillance into an active assistance system.

Key Components at a Glance

  • KeBob Server – the brain of the system: The KeBob Server handles the central processing of all data. This is where AI algorithms and computer vision come together to derive concrete decisions from video data – from evaluating a situation to triggering an automatic response.

  • Cameras – the eyes of the system: IP cameras provide the foundation for all analyses. They capture the entire area and supply the data for real-time evaluation. Existing camera infrastructure can be flexibly integrated.

  • KeBob Guard – the interface to humans: The KeBob Guard is the visible element in the foyer. It enables direct interaction with customers – via display, audio, and visual signals – and actively responds to detected situations.

  • Networking & control: A central switch ensures secure communication between all components while also supplying them with power. I/O modules make it possible to translate digital decisions into physical actions – for example, opening doors or triggering alarms.

  • KeBob Cockpit – everything at a glance: The web-based KeBob Cockpit allows all systems to be centrally managed: monitoring device status across locations, controlling configurations, defining responses, and managing users – all via one central interface.

Only through the interaction of all these components does KeBob become a truly intelligent overall system. From data capture and analysis to automated response, it creates a solution that identifies risks early and actively contributes to safety.

System Architecture in Detail – Watch the Video

You can also see how the individual components of KeBob work together in detail in our latest video. In it, software developer Bernhard Franzl explains the system architecture as well as the key hardware and software components step by step – from data capture and AI processing to the system’s automatic response.

The KeBob system combines AI-driven software with interactive hardware components to detect risks early and enhance security in bank foyers. This video demonstrates how these elements work together to ensure a stable and safe branch operation.

Conclusion: More Than Security – Intelligent Assistance

KeBob redefines security: moving away from pure monitoring toward intelligent assistance. The result is a scalable, centrally managed system that can be flexibly integrated into existing infrastructures – while opening up entirely new possibilities.
