AI-powered security, inspiring conversations and fresh perspectives: Security Expo Munich 2026 was all about intelligent security solutions for KEBA. On July 1 and 2, KEBA presented its AI-powered assistance solution KeBob in Munich. Particularly valuable were the many discussions around the use of AI for prevention, assistance and protection in self-service areas and other sensitive environments. For our new colleagues Matthias Ahrens and Emanuel Rotter, Security Expo also marked their first trade show appearance focused on KeBob – an excellent opportunity to gain first-hand insights into customer requirements, market feedback and real-world use cases, while deepening their understanding of the market for intelligent security solutions.

AI Security for Bank Foyers and Other Semi-Public Areas

At the heart of our trade show presence was KeBob, the AI-based assistance solution designed to enhance security, well-being and operational efficiency in semi-public environments. Unlike traditional video surveillance systems, KeBob analyzes situations in real time and can respond immediately to events. This includes detecting critical situations, addressing individuals directly, or automatically triggering security measures. Visitors showed particular interest in the wide range of possible applications. KeBob helps to:

  • Detect hazardous situations at an early stage

  • Protect privacy in self-service areas

  • Prevent shoulder surfing at ATMs

  • Reduce vandalism and misuse of facilities

  • Detect medical emergencies and initiate appropriate actions

As a result, KeBob is increasingly evolving from a pure security solution into an intelligent digital assistant for modern service and self-service environments.

Data Protection and AI Go Hand in Hand

One of the key topics discussed during the exhibition was data protection in AI-based security solutions. Many visitors, including security managers and decision-makers, were interested in how intelligent video analytics can be combined with GDPR-compliant implementation.

This is where KeBob offers a clear advantage: image data is processed locally and in real time. Personal raw data is not stored by default, faces can be anonymized, and event-related data is only processed when required for a specific purpose.

By combining advanced AI technology with high data protection standards, KeBob builds trust among both operators and users.

Strong Demand for AI-Powered Prevention

The many conversations at Security Expo once again highlighted a clear trend: operators of bank foyers, self-service zones and other semi-public spaces are looking for solutions that go beyond traditional surveillance. They need systems that can identify risks, actively provide assistance and operate in a cost-effective and privacy-compliant manner.

This is exactly where KeBob comes in. By combining AI-based situation recognition, active assistance and flexible scalability, the solution helps reduce security risks, relieves employees of routine tasks and significantly improves customers’ sense of safety and well-being.
