Customer-oriented laundry logistics and advanced automation

Success Story: Kampschulte

Kampschulte GmbH & Co. KG relies on KEBA’s intelligent room solution to make the full-service supply of textiles in healthcare and rental workwear even more efficient. Automated dispensing systems, well-designed access control, and smart software features simplify processes, reduce waiting times, and optimize controlling. The result: high user acceptance, greater transparency, and a scalable solution for future growth.

The time required for manual handling of workwear often cannot be fully met on the customer side. As a result, digital and automated laundry management has become one of the most critical aspects.

Automated dispensing systems in the form of DCS have been in use for a long time. Due to changes and continuous development within one of Kampschulte’s customers, there was a need for an automated dispensing system that meets current requirements and offers a clear growth perspective.

After several evaluations, the decision was made in favor of KEBA’s laundry logistics system, as the interaction between components, software, and the existing system proved to be highly compatible. In addition, the software provides features that further enhance Kampschulte’s service offering.

Intelligent Software & Proven Technology

As a standard, Kampschulte offers its customers a glass turnstile with a hygiene kit, a personnel access airlock, and a large return unit for soiled laundry. The access airlock is equipped with access control via identification readers on both sides. User guidance is provided through displays located both outside and inside. Entry is possible from both sides via a door with anti-claustrophobic glazing. An emergency release is installed inside the airlock for panic situations.

The hygiene kit includes a disinfectant dispenser with a capacity of 500 ml and is connected to the system. Access through the glass turnstile is only granted after using the disinfectant dispenser, ensuring that the laundry inside the room remains hygienically safe.

Within the software, the option to select an alternative size is a highly valued feature. If the originally requested size is unavailable or no longer preferred by the employee, an alternative size ensures that suitable clothing is still provided. This reduces waiting times, avoids bottlenecks, and improves the utilization of available inventory.

Currently, four room solutions are in operation at Kampschulte customer sites.
“The KEBA laundry system enables both us and our customers to combine controlling and efficiency in workwear management,” says Michael Schadwell, authorized signatory and Head of Customer Service. “User acceptance is very high after system implementation. We are very satisfied with the collaboration.”
