Management of weapons, ammunition and personal emergency call devices
At a glance
The deployment of weapons, ammunition and personal emergency call devices (PECDs) within an organisation demands the highest security standards and full documentation of access. Equipment must be available quickly and reliably when needed. Manual recording processes are time-consuming and carry the risk of gaps in documentation.
To support your staff, all withdrawals and returns of weapons and personal emergency call devices are recorded electronically directly at the transfer terminal. This provides you with verifiable evidence of who used which weapon or personal emergency call device, and when. So you retain full transparency and control over security resources at all times.

How does the digital management of weapons and communication devices work?
Set-up
Weapons are tagged with an RFID label and assigned to a depository resource. Personal emergency call devices are also pre-assigned to a depository resource. You can specify exactly when which staff are permitted to access them by means of access permissions, alerts and schedules.
This ensures secure weapons management.
Applications of the PECD and weapons management system
Our solution provides for more diligent handling of emergency call and radio communication devices. There may nevertheless be occasions when a device develop a fault and needs to be repaired.
A status check on return immediately alerts your service team, and devices can be promptly made available to all users again once they have been repaired.
Electronic management for:
- Weapon transfer: Handguns and long guns (with individual tracking)
- Ammunition transfer (including separate storage)
- Personal emergency call and radio communication devices
Tip: We have a solution specially designed for high-security facilities such as prisons and young offenders’ institutions which enables the management of personal emergency call devices, cell keys and key rings, including issue and return procedures.
Valuable additional functions in high-security areas
Access control
Dual control: Weapons and ammunition may only be removed by an authorised person together with a supervisor.
Removal reminder and prevention of removal
The officer identifies themself by a chip or chipcard. An interface to the access control system verifies that keys and weapons have been returned to the armoury.
Unique identification – bioverify
Matching of unique biometric features, such as fingerprints or palm vein recognition
