Excellent service even with full shopping bags
Carrying multiple shopping bags makes it difficult to continue browsing other stores. To address this, Glatt Shopping Center aimed to introduce a new service that enables customers to securely store their purchases and enjoy a more relaxed shopping experience. In addition, customers should also have the option to store personal bags or luggage during their visit.
Access needed to be possible via mobile phones without dependency on Android, iOS, or any specific app. To prevent a small number of users from occupying multiple lockers, only one compartment per mobile number could be reserved per day.
The Solution: A Locker System with a User-Friendly Process
The solution was straightforward: a locker system with large compartments combined with smartphone access. The system is particularly robust and durable. At the intuitive touchscreen interface, users select a compartment based on availability. By entering their mobile phone number, a unique, temporarily valid access code is generated as a QR code and sent to the smartphone via SMS.
To open the locker, the QR code is simply scanned at the terminal, and the assigned compartment unlocks. When customers wish to retrieve their items, they scan the QR code again at the terminal to access their belongings. The software logs all processes to ensure traceability of item retrieval.
Glatt Shopping Center now offers its customers a locker system that can be used quickly and easily during opening hours. The service has been very well received and is perceived as a significant convenience while shopping. As a result, the center enhances its service offering and becomes more attractive to a broader audience.
