Which charging station (a-, c- oder x-series) is right for me?
The choice of charging station depends on the intended use. We have to distinguish between the simple standalone wallbox (a-series) for pure home use or the connected or smart versions (c- and x-series) that can interact with other systems.

What does a climate-neutral charging station mean or what is the GREEN EDITION?

What is the KeContact P30 DE440?
This is a special edition, the Germany Edition. Our KeContact P30 was specially tailored to the requirements of KfW funding (440) and is therefore eligible for it.
How do I know what type of charging station I have and how it is equipped (energy meter, WIFI, RFID…)?
Type and equipment of the charging station can be derived from the
product designation. How this information can be derived is described in the
"Operating Instructions". The product designation (example: KCP30-
ES240032-000-xx) is on the type plate.
What is the minimum / maximum charging power with the KeContact P30?
The minimum power for EVs is usually defined as 6A, below this value charging is not possible for any vehicle, the maximum power is limited to 32A or 22kW(3ph). The power limitation can be changed by using the DIP switches.
Where can I buy the KeContact P30 and who can install it for me?

Does the KeContact P30 support bidirectional charging?
P30 does not support bidirectional charging (ISO 15118 V2G – bidirectional charging).
However, we find this topic very exciting and it of course is on our roadmap.
How can I become a certified KEBA electrician?

MID / ME (5)
Does the charging station have a meter?
Certain versions of the c- and x-series have a meter.
If the charging station has a meter can be derived from the product designation.
The product designation is on the type plate.
The MID meter is marked in the product designation with an M.
What is the difference between MID and ME certified meters and when do I need a certified meter?
The main difference between MID and ME devices is the validity of their meter data. ME devices have a built-in long-term memory in which the ME-relevant measurement data sets are stored. With an OCPP connection, these are also transmitted to the backend. In Germany, measured values from MID devices do not form a legally valid basis for charging energy costs to third parties. Energy meters that can be used for further billing must comply with the measurement and calibration law (ME). In Germany, measured values from MID or non-verified meters are used for information purposes only.
What is the public key and where can I find it?
A public key is only available for wallboxes with an ME meter.
This can be read from a QR code on the type plate of the wallbox.
How long will charging sessions be stored in the measuring capsule?
More than 20,000 measurement data sets are saved and stored in the certified measuring capsule. The memory is designed as a ring buffer. After the last memory space has been used, the oldest data record will be overwritten. The dimensioning of the memory allows a data record to be kept for 10 years when having 5 charging sessions per day.
How long will the calibration be valid? Where can I have the charging station recalibrated?
The calibration is valid for different time period depending on the country. In order to obtain more detailed information here, please contact the calibration office of your country.
The responsible calibration office must be contacted for subsequent recalibration.
LED bar and display (6)
What does the LED segment indicate?
The LED bar indicates the current operating status of the charging station. It consists of 4 segments (S1 to S4), which can light up or flash in different colours together or individually. The LED bar can only be seen when power supply is activated.
The most important display elements are shown in the following table:
Depending on whether a load management and/or backend is available, the LED segments indicate the availability of the systems: The information does not depend on the colour of the LED segments. The colour (green or blue) only indicates whether the authorization is activated.
What is an error code?
The error code provides information about the status of the charging station in the event of an error. This consists of a blue/red or white/red combination. Is it possible to disable the LED bar?
The lighting of the LED segments cannot be deactivated. The charging station has a brightness sensor, the LED segments will be dimmed at night.
Does the KeContact P30 have a display?
Devices with an energy meter (P30 c-series and x-series) have an (LED dot matrix) display.
What is shown on the display?
Depending on the operating status, the display can indicate different information (e.g. software version, IP address, authorization request,...). However, the main task is to display the status of the internal energy meter. When inactive, the brightness of the display is reduced and switched off after a few minutes. The display shines through the housing and is only visible when the power supply is active.

My wallbox displays "out of service". What does that mean?
Reasons could be:
The DIP switch 2.5 is ON, but the c-series wallbox cannot find or is not connected to the master charging station. As a result, “out of service” is displayed (only during initial start-up).
Check if connection between the charging stations is correct. If necessary, crimp the LSA+® connection again.
In addition, not all switches are compatible. If necessary, try a different switch and/or check the power supply to the switch.
It must be ensured that only one of the two network interfaces (LSA+® or RJ45) is occupied.
If the network connection is OK, different software versions (between master and client) can be the reason for this message. All charging stations should at first be operated in stand-alone mode and each charging station should be updated to the latest software or firmware version.
With the x-series: When the charging station is started up for the first time, the x-series wallbox may display “out of service” for a few minutes due to internal processes.
If a router with a DHCP server and the internal DHCP server of the x-series are used at the same time: As a result, the c-series devices may not be in the same network as the master charging station, and consequently will not find the master station and display “out of service”. (This could allow the charging stations to operate in different networks.)
"Out of service" indication with solid red LED segment: Update failed. A deep firmware update will help here.
Configuration and functionalities (11)
How is the basic configuration done (DIP switch)?
The basic configuration of the charging station is done via the DIP switches. Changes to the DIP switch settings only take effect after the charging station has been restarted. In order to restart, press the service button for 2-3 seconds until the first beep or briefly de-energize the charging station via the circuit breaker.

How can I restrict my charging station to 11kW?
In order to set the current to 11kW (16A), you must set the DSW 1.7 in the first row to “ON”. Then you have to restart using the service button by pressing and holding the service button for 2-3 seconds until you hear the first beep. The wallbox restarts and the new settings will be applied. The wallbox is then set to 11kW (16A) and charging can be carried out.

Is automatic phase switching possible?
Our wallbox does not support automatic phase switching.
This would have to be implemented with an external contactor control. The desired setting of the charging mode (1- or 3-phase) must be made in standby mode or in an interrupted charging session. The charging process can then be started/continued.
What is the release input X1 for?
The release input X1 is a potential-free contact, which enables the charging station to be controlled by external components. The release input X1 can be used, for example, as an external key switch, timer, combination lock, photovoltaic system, etc.
In order to activate the release input X1, the DSW 1.1 must be set to “ON” and the wallbox needs to be restarted.
The available charging current can be reduced to a specific value using the release input X1 in combination with the DSW 2.6.
What is the switching contact output X2 for?
The relay contact X2 is a potential-free relay contact, which can be used as a charging status display (standard use) or as a contactor monitor to de-energize the wallbox with a higher-level switch-off solution.
In order to activate switching contact output X2 , the DSW 1.2 must be set to “ON” and the wallbox needs be restarted.
What does the status LED indicate?
The status LED below the service button indicates the operating status.
It flashes alternately in the colours red-yellow-green, which represent the functioning operating status.
How to restart the wallbox?
The wallbox can be restarted with the service button next to the DIP switches.
The service button has to be held for 2-3 seconds until you hear the first beep so that the wallbox restarts.
How can I download log files?
Log files only can be downloaded for the P30 x-series.
There are two options:
The log files can be downloaded and made available in the webinterface in the category “System” under “Logging”.
You can also download log files with an empty FAT32 formatted USB stick by plugging the empty FAT32 formatted USB stick into the USB port of the wallbox. The wallbox automatically recognizes the USB stick and loads the log files onto the USB stick. The USB stick can only be removed with "Remove USB".
Which USB sticks can I use for the configuration?
Any USB stick that is empty and formatted in FAT32 format can be used.
Is there an on/off switch on the wallbox?
The wallbox itself does not have an on/off switch, the circuit breaker serves as a power disconnection device.
Are there any possibilities to control the charging current?
via release input X1 to activate and deactivate charging
via smart home interface (UDP, Modbus TCP) e.g.: Loxone, Cohere, Smartfox, myGEKKO
via the local charging management of the P30 x-series

Which versions of KeContact P30 can be integrated in a smart home?
Our c- and x-series wallboxes can be controlled via the network protocols Modbus TCP and UDP, which requires DE440.
How to integrate the KEBA KeContact P30 in a smart home?
In order to activate the smart home interface, the DSW 1.3 must be activated for UDP/Modbus TCP control.
When DWS 1.3 is disabled, UDP registries still can be read but not written!
The LSA+® interface is to be used for the network cabling.
For the correct configuration of the controller (in the picture: Home Automation Server), please contact the manufacturer of the controller.

Can the DE440 editions be integrated into a smart home?
The KfW wallbox (DE440 & DE440 GREEN EDITION) is a KeContact P30 Germany Edition that meets the requirements of KfW funding and has the communication interfaces UDP and Modbus TCP.
Those interfaces enable the remote control of this wallbox, for example via a UDP controller within a smart home.
The vehicle follows the PWM signal that is sent by the wallbox and reflects the maximum charging current.
In contrast to a KeContact P30 c-series, however, no meter is installed - the amount of energy charged and the current charging capacity cannot be retrieved from the wall box.
In addition, the display and the ability to connect the wallbox to a master are also missing.
It is therefore a pure stand-alone device.
For excess or photovoltaic-optimized charging, we recommend the P30 c- and x-series, as they have full UDP and Modbus/TCP functionality.
Is excess charging possible in connection with a PV system?
Our c- and x-series wallboxes can be controlled via the network protocols Modbus TCP and UDP and are therefore suitable for the use of excess PV charging. In order to use your own photovoltaic system for charging, usually a controller is required in addition to the inverter, which takes over the central control of both systems.

Which controllers/systems is the KeContact P30 compatible with?

How can forced charging be implemented when there is not enough excess?
Forced charging is possible using an external controller in combination with the external release contact X1.
If a wall switch is installed and connected to X1 in the charging station, when this switch is actuated (activation), charging is enabled via the controller in the amount of the configured max. charging current, regardless of PV production. The setting needs to be activated on the controller interface.
Is dynamic house connection monitoring possible?
Yes, dynamic house connection monitoring is possible both in stand-alone mode (x-series only) and in a charging network using a meter.
House connection monitoring allows the charging vehicle to be dynamically provided with the available charging current, depending on the other consumers on the house connection. This ensures that the house connection fuse is not overloaded and that a lower charging capacity than would be possible with the vehicle and the installation does not have to be selected.

RFID & Authorisation (7)
Which RFID cards/RFID tags can I use?
Our charging stations with included reader accept cards/RFID tags according to ISO 14443 or ISO 15693. These are the commercial standards on the market.
Why is my RFID card not recognized?
An incorrect format has been used.
The RFID card is not in the local whitelist. In order for the RFID card to be recognized, it must be taught in.
For charging network (x-series): The RFID card must be taught in at the master charging station in the webinterface.
With a single charging station (c-series): The RFID card must be taught in directly at the charging station.
When connecting to an external OCPP backend: The RFID card is not in the whitelist of the OCPP backend. In order for the RFID card to be recognized, it must be stored on the OCPP backend.
How many RFID cards can be taught in on a P20 or P30?
P20 and P30 a- and c-series: up to 20 RFID cards
P30 x-series: up to 1,024 RFID cards
P30 x-series with connection to an OCPP backend: unlimited
How do I teach in RFID cards?
There are different ways to teach in RFID cards. With the a- and c-series, this works directly at the charging station.

With the x-series, this process takes place via the webinterface in the RFID tab. Cards can be taught in, edited and deleted there.
I already have a KEBA charging station without an RFID function and would like to expand it with a charging station with an RFID reader. Is this possible?
It is not possible to operate different authorization modes in a charging network.
There is either the option of operating the entire network with or without authorization.
How can I protect my charging station from unauthorized access?
It is not possible to operate different authorization modes in a charging network.

Can I retrofit the RFID reader?
Our charging stations of the P30 are optionally equipped with an RFID reader, it is not possible to retrofit one.
Network technology (18)
When do I use the LSA+® connection and when do I use the RJ45?
The Ethernet1 connection X4 is designed as a terminal block in LSA+® technology. Hard-wired communication (e.g. for SmartHome or a charging network) may only be carried out on this LSA+® connection. The Ethernet2 connection X3 (RJ45) is only used for diagnostic purposes on the device (debugging).
The LSA+® interface is missing at my charging station.
The a-series, Germany Edition, GREEN EDITION Germany only have a RJ45 socket installed.
How do I recognize whether there is a network connection to the charging station?
An additional green LED lights up on the circuit board near the socket.
When the LAN cable is connected to the LSA+® terminal, a green LED lights up in the area of the LSA+® terminal on the circuit board.
How do I integrate the charging station into my local network?
There are 2 options here:
Via LAN: A LAN connection to a router/switch needs to be created for this.
Via WLAN (x-series only): Several settings must be made here in the webinterface: In the webinterface of the x-series under Configuration/Network Connection, the parameter WLAN/WiFi can be set to ON. If this setting is selected, further setting options are displayed.
Further fields must then be filled out here in order to configure the connection to the WLAN router.
Here you can also search for the router to which a connection should be established.
If the settings have been entered correctly, scroll down and press the "Accept" button to apply the settings.
How do I enable the local DHCP server?
With the x-series, the local DHCP server can be set to ON/OFF in the webinterface under Configuration/Network Connection.
Which IP addresses may be assigned to the charging station?
The range 192.168.25.xxx must not be assigned.
The range 192.168.2.xxx must not be assigned.
The range 192.168.42.xxx must not be assigned.
Which routers / switches can be used?
Any commercially available router or switch can be used for a network with our wall boxes.
We are not limited to any particular manufacturer.
How should the routers / switches be configured?
Information on this can be found in the configuration manual of the routers / switches.
What must be considered when using a router?
Port forwarding has to be activated. The router itself is a DHCP server, which means that it independently assigns IP addresses to the devices in the network. The local DHCP server on the Wallbox (x-series) has to be set to OFF.
Can I connect two master charging stations with an activated internal DHCP server to the same switch?
No, this is not possible. Only one device in the network is allowed to work as a DHCP server at a time.
Where can I see the MAC address?
With the x-series, the MAC address is displayed either in the webinterface on the status page of the wallbox or in the Rdiper interface. The MAC address of the hotspot is specified on the configuration label.
With the c-series, the MAC address is displayed in the simplified webinterface.
How can I set up the IP address?
P30 c-series without network connection: If the charging station is not part of a network, the IP address can be set using the DIP switches
(see “Installation Manual”). An IP address in the range from 192.168.25.11 to 192.168.25.26 can be assigned for the charging station.
P30 c-series with network connection: If the charging station is in a network (master/client network), the IP address is assigned automatically
by the router or by the master charging station (x-series with activated DHCP server). When assigned by the master charging station, the IP address cannot be changed. If assigned by the router, the IP address can be changed in the router's user interface. This is done by assigning the desired IP address to the MAC address of the respective charging station.
P30 x-series with connection to a router: If the charging station is connected to a router, the IP address is automatically assigned by the router. The IP address can be changed in the router's user interface by assigning the desired IP address to the charging station's MAC address.
P30 x-series with activated DHCP server: If the local DHCP server of the charging station has been activated, the charging station automatically receives the IP address 192.168.42.1. This IP address cannot be changed.
Where can I see the IP address?
The IP address is indicated on the display when starting the wallbox. (Provided that a display is installed).
With the x-series, the IP address is also given in the webinterface on the status page.
When the Wallbox is connected to a router, the IP address is also displayed in the router's interface.
How can the IP address of clients be determined?
The IP address is indicated on the display when starting the wallbox.
Where can I find the password for the WLAN access point (WLAN hotspot)?
A bag containing the configuration label (silver sticker) is included in the wallbox packaging. The information for the hotspot connection is indicated on it.
Does the WiFi connection and the use of the access point work at the same time?
No, this is not possible. If the WiFi connection setting is set to ON, the access point will automatically switch to OFF.
How do I set up the WiFi connection to the router?
The number of wall boxes set in the charging network must first be set to 1. This is set in the Charging Network tab. If there is no charging network, the setting is already set to 1.
Then switch to the Network Connection tab.
Set the local DHCP server to OFF.
Set the WLAN/WIFI to ON in the webinterface, the WLAN access point is automatically deactivated.
If this item is set to ON and the access point is OFF, you can let the router that should be connected search for the network connection and enter the password.
It is now possible to connect to the webinterface using the IP address generated by the DHCP server (router).
The IP address is indicated on the display for a short time when retarting the wallbox.
How can I access the charging station remotely?
This is possible via a VPN connection to the network and the IP address of the wallbox. A connection to the wallbox can also be established via a backend. The wallbox receives a public IP address via mobile communications, which can also be used to access the webinterface.
What is the webinterface and what is it used for?
The P30 x-series has the so-called extensive webinterface. The P30 a- and c-series have the so-called simplified webinterface.
The necessary settings for the communication of the charging station are configured in the extensive webinterface of the P30 x-series. The entire charging network is configured via the P30 x-series.
The webinterface is used, for example, to read out the charging sessions, to teach in the RFID cards, to carry out software updates, to carry out configuration settings, ...
The simplified webinterface of the P30 a- and c-series only provides status information such as: the total energy, the energy of a charging session, the power, the voltage, the current, the status and the basic logs. This web interface can only be read, no configurations and settings can be made here.
How can I connect to the webinterface?
A login is required to be able to use the extensive webinterface of the P30 x-series. The login data for the first login in the webinterface are on the configuration label. After the first login, the password must be changed for security reasons. The password can be reset with the recovery key.
A network connection is required to access the webinterface of the master charging station. The network connection can be established via LAN, WLAN, WLAN access point or mobile connection (e.g. with a PC or mobile device). The webinterface of the master charging station can be accessed by entering the IP address of the master charging station in a web browser. The IP address of the master charging station is determined differently depending on the connection type. It is shown on the display when the charging station is restarted while it is booting up.
The easiest way to access the webinterface is via the WLAN access point. Our wall box provides an integrated WLAN network. To do this, go to the WLAN settings of your end device (PC, smartphone, ...) and connect with the SSID that has the serial number of the wallbox as name.
The default IP address of the WLAN access point is 192.168.2.1. Enter it in your web browser and then log in.
To be able to use the webinterface, a login is required.
The login data for the first login in the webinterface are on the configuration label. The configuration label is in a bag that is included with the mounting hardware.
After the first login, the password must be changed for security reasons.
The password guidelines must be observed:
at least 10 characters long
at most 2 identical characters follow each other
at least 3 of the following criteria are met:
1 capital letter (A−Z)
1 lowercase letter (a−z)
1 digit (0−9)
1 special character
The simplified webinterface of the P30 a- and c-series can be accessed via network access. The simplified webinterface can be accessed via the IP address of the charging station.
P30 a- and c-series without network connection:
If the charging station is not part of a network, the IP address can be set using the DIP switches. An IP address in the range from 192.168.25.11 to 192.168.25.26 can be assigned for the charging station. After a restart the IP address is indicated on the display.
P30 c-series with network connection:
If the charging station is in a network (master/client charging network), the IP address is assigned automatically
by the router or by the master charging station (P30 x-series with activated DHCP server). When assigned by the master charging station, the IP address cannot be changed. If assigned by the router, the IP address can be changed in the router's user interface. This is done by assigning the desired IP address to the MAC address of the respective charging station.
I lost my configuration label, where can I get a new one?
The configuration label is only supplied with the P30 x-series.
If you have lost your configuration label, you can request it again via our contact form or via our chatbot and we will then send you the configuration data again.

Where can i see my charging sessions?
In the WebUI, the x-series offers the option of displaying the last 200 charging sessions. The charging sessions of the last 90 days can be exported as a *.csv file using the “Export” button. Different filter functions allow searching for different charging sessions. For example, you can filter for charging sessions that have a specific start date or where a specific RFID card was used.
This overview, for example, makes it possible to easily settle accounts with the employer.
What is an OCPP backend for?
The P30 x-series offers the option of being connected to a central management system via the “Open Charge Point Protocol” (OCPP). OCPP as an open application protocol makes it possible to connect any central management system to the charging station, regardless of the manufacturer or supplier.
The consumption values for each RFID card (user) are added up and billed here. The charging sessions are stored centrally.
Load management can also be implemented via a backend. The specification for the amount of charging current comes from the OCPP backend.

With which OCPP versions is the KeContact P30 compatible?
Currently we support:
- OCPP 1.5 via SOAP
- OCPP 1.6 via SOAP or JSON
Is there a KEBA backend?
Unfortunately, we do not offer a backend from KEBA. Since this is an open-to-use protocol, we are compatible with all common backend providers.
What options are there for an OCPP backend connection?
The wallbox of the x-series can either be connected to the backend
- via mobile communications (GSM 4G) or
- an external router with a DHCP server (LAN or WLAN).
How do I see if the master charging station is connected to the OCPP backend?
The display on the front of the charging station provides information about which communication connection has been established.
If the connection to the backend is active, all 4 segments of the LED bar flash green and blue.
In addition, the status of the connection to the backend can be seen in the webinterface of the x-series under the
Status tab using the so-called “heartbeat”.
How much data can be expected?
The data volume for communication via OCPP 1.5 SOAP is between 10 and 50 MB per month and depends on the number of loading sessions.
What should be considered when setting up an OCPP backend and how should it be set up?
The following must be observed when connecting to an OCPP backend:
It is recommended to assign a static IP address to the master charging station in the network based on the MAC address of the device.
The OCPP backend is usually not in the same network, so the charging station must be assigned a “public IP address” that is routed to the internal IP address (NAT).
The firewall has to be configured in such a way that communication between the charging station and the OCPP backend is possible.
In the case of a connection via VPN, the IP address of the VPN must be specified in the configuration (web interface) for the downlink.
With a mobile phone connection, it may be necessary for the required ports to be activated by the mobile phone provider.
For communication with an OCPP backend, the following ports must be enabled in the network:
You receive the configuration data from the backend operator. These have to be entered in the webinterface of the x-series under the Configuration -> OCPP tab.

Is it possible to use an external GSM antenna?
No, our wallbox does not have any extra connections for an external antenna.
What options do I have if there is poor cellular reception (e.g. underground car park)?
We recommend setting up a GSM/LTE-capable router on an upper floor and establishing a connection between the router and the wallbox via LAN.
What should be considered for a GSM/LTE connection?

Which SIM card type to use?

Based on the product type and equipment series, you can compare which updates are suitable on the download page. Product type and equipment series can be determined from the product designation on the type plate.

The number that replaces the [*] in the product designation indicates the series of the charging station. Based on this you can find the suitable update file.
B, C, E, G or H...x-series
Use the software update for the x-series.

How are software updates to be carried out?
Update the x-series
A software update in the form of a *.keb file is required to bring the charging station software up to date. The software update can be done via USB stick, LAN, an OCPP backend or the web interface. A software update updates both the software and the firmware of the charging station. Detailed instructions with the new features (release notes) are included in the update package.
Software updates are to be carried out in stages!
It can only be upgraded to the next higher version one at a time. For example, if SW 1.10 is available, it must first be updated to SW 1.11 before SW 1.12 can be installed. Otherwise the update will be cancelled. Therefore, first check which software version is installed on the charging station.
Under no circumstances shall the power supply be interrupted during the software update!
This can destroy the software on the charging station and make further operation impossible.
The software update can last up to one hour. The update process is indicated by the LED bar slowly flashing in orange.
After the software update, the charging station will restart automatically. The LED bar flashes blue or green depending on the authorization setting.

Software update via USB stick (P30 x-series):
- Download the latest software for the charging station (*.keb file).
- Plug the USB stick into a PC.
- Format the USB stick with FAT32.
- Create a new directory on the USB stick with the name "UPD".
- Copy the downloaded *.keb file into the “UPD” directory.
- Plug the USB stick into the USB port of the charging station. Update will start automatically.
Software update via webinterface (P30 x-series):
- Download the latest software for the charging station (*.keb file).
- Log into the webinterface of the charging station.
- Select “Software Update” under “System” in the menu bar.
- Upload the current software using the “Choose a file ...” button.
- Start the update process with the “Upload & Install” button.
Software update via OCPP backend (P30 x-series):
An FTP link is required for a software update via an OCPP backend.

How are firmware updates to be carried out? (a-, c-series and GREEN EDITION)

An empty USB stick formatted with FAT32 is required.
The following steps are necessary to carry out the firmware update:
Download the latest firmware from the KEBA website:
Extract the file KEBA_P30_USB_xxx.zip.
Copy the update files directly to the root of the USB stick
(do not use folders).
Plug the prepared USB stick into the USB port of the charging station.
Restart the charging station: To do this, press the service button T1 until you hear the first
beep (approx. 1 second).
The firmware update is carried out. The status LED below
the service button flashes in different colours and time intervals.
The update process can take up to one minute.
After installing the update, the status LED lights up green
Disconnect the USB stick from the charging station. This triggers a restart

How to build up a charging network?
A local charging network includes 1x P30 x-series as master and up to a maximum of 15x P20/P30 c-series as client.
The client charging stations are connected to the master charging station via LAN using a router or switch. When using a client, the connection between the charging stations can be made directly.
The communication between master and client charging stations is configured in the webinterface.
The DSW 2.5 must be set to “ON” at all charging stations in the charging network so that the charging stations can communicate with each other.
Can I integrate several P30 x-series into a charging network?
No, this is not possible. A charging network may only contain 1x P30 x-series.
Which factors have to be considered when setting up a charging network?

The client charging station can be connected to the master charging station via LAN.
In this case, the master charging station must be configured as a DHCP server. The IP address is then assigned to the client charging station by the master charging station.
How do I see if a client is connected to the master?
The display on the LED bar indicates whether a client is connected to the master.
The LED bar can flash green or blue, depending on whether the authorization is active or not.
Is it possible to set up a charging network with more than 16 charging stations?
No, this is not possible. A charging network currently consists of 1x P30 x-series and up to a maximum of 15x P20/P30 c-series.
Is it possible to have a dynamic load management?
There is the option of a statically intelligent charging network and dynamic load management:
In (static) load management, the maximum current of the sub-distribution is used for the master device. Depending on the connected vehicles, this distributes the available power evenly to up to 15 client devices.

Is it possible to prioritise a charging station?
It is not possible to prioritise a wallbox in the charging network. The available energy is distributed to all wall boxes in the network in equal distribution mode.
If necessary, a charging station can be prioritised via the backend. However, this depends on the respective backend.
Can I connect the charging stations to each other via WiFi?
Since only the P30 x-series Wallbox has the WiFi module, it is not possible to connect the charging stations to each other via WiFi.

Which upstream residual current circuit breaker (FI/RCD) do I need?
The KeContact P30 wallbox has integrated DC leakage detection with a triggering threshold of 6 mA (DC), which ensures safe operation of an upstream RCD type A on the connection side. As a result, no expensive upstream type B residual current circuit breaker is required.
How should the circuit breaker be dimensioned?
When dimensioning the circuit breaker, the increased ambient temperatures in the control cabinet must also be taken into account! Under certain circumstances, this may make it necessary to reduce the charging current specification in order to increase system availability. The nominal current must be determined according to the information on the type plate in coordination with the desired charging power (DIP switch settings for charging current specification) and the supply line. I(DIP switch) ≤ I(protective circuit breaker) ≤ I(supply line) ≤ I(nominated current)
What environmental conditions is the KC-P30 designed for?
The P30 can easily be operated both indoors and outdoors at a temperature range between -25 degrees Celsius and +50 or +40 degrees (at 22kw) Celsius.
How high does the connected load per charging station have to be?
There is no defined value for the connected load, the value depends on the connected load provided. The connected load shall not exceed 32 A per charging station. The maximum permissible current (10 A, 13 A, 16 A, 20 A, 25 A, 32 A) is configured via the DIP switches in the housing.
What has to be considered when installing in an (underground) garage?
Fire police requirements (ventilation, emergency shutdowns)

When is the charging station ready for use?
As soon as the charging station flashes green every 3 seconds, it means that it is ready for use.
Does the charging station need maintenance?
The P30 is basically maintenance-free, but the owner must regularly check for defects in the charging socket or charging plug (including charging cable) and for damage to the housing (visual inspection).
Do I need a test device/simulator for commissioning?
No electric car or expensive vehicle simulator is required for commissioning or system testing, as our wall box has its own commissioning mode.
What measurements are required during commissioning?
In commissioning mode, the device carries out a self-test (locking, contactor control, current measurement, ...).
In addition, the contactor is switched on for a limited time in this mode, even when the vehicle is not connected, in order to enable an initial test. A normal charging process is not possible in the commissioning mode.
Other necessary measurements are always dependent on the respective installation location. You can usually get the exact requirements from your electrician.
How can the DC fault detection be checked during initial commissioning?
The charging station has an initial start-up mode. In this mode, a check with an appropriate vehicle simulator or a suitable test device is possible.
What to do if the supply terminal cannot be opened?
A screwdriver with the following is required to open the supply terminal
Blade length: at least 3 cm blank blade at the front (no plastic coating)
Blade width: 4 - 5.5 mm (3/16")
To open the supply terminal, proceed as follows:
Risk of breakage of the supply terminal!
Do not lever the screwdriver up, down or to the side in the supply terminal.
- Push the screwdriver into the supply terminal as shown.
- Using moderate force, push the screwdriver straight into the supply terminal until the contact opens. The angle of the screwdriver changes as you push in.

The first point of contact in the event of a problem is the dealer from whom the wallbox was purchased or the electrician who installed the charging station.

In the event that an error is more serious and cannot be rectified on site, the charging station must be sent in for repair.

Depending on your charging station, the main functionalities are as follows:
Start/Stop the current charging session

For which charging stations is the KEBA eMobility App available?
The KEBA eMobility App is compatible with all KEBA KeContact P30 wallboxes from the x- and c-series as well as the company car wallbox.
The app is also available for the KeContact P30 Germany Edition (Item No.: 119 857) and the KeContact P30 GREEN EDITION Germany (Item No.: 121 218). However, there is only a limited range of functions here, since no energy meter has been installed in the charging station. The following features can still be used in the app:
- Starting and stopping the wallbox
- Setting the maximum charging power
- View the current status of the charging station
- Time information on current and past charging sessions
How do I know which charging station I own?
The Setup Guide in the App will help you here. It shows you in just a few steps which charging station you have at home. The Setup Guide only asks you for the product code, which is on the nameplate of each charging station. It has the format KC-P30-E***-*- and tells the Setup Guide which series you have.
Do I have to update my wallbox software in order to use the KEBA eMobility App?
A software update to version 1.13 is required for your x-series in order to be able to use all features in the App. You can use the Setup Guide in the App, which will walk you through the process step by step. For this, however, your wallbox must already be updated to at least software version 1.9.
If your wallbox is currently running on a software version older than 1.9, you must first update the software via the web interface to 1.9 or directly to 1.13.
No firmware update is necessary for the KeContact P30 c-series and the Germany editions.
Can I also remote control my charging station via the KEBA eMobility App?
With the KEBA eMobility App you can control and view your charging station when you are in the same local network (WLAN). With the next update of the App, it will be possible to access and control all x-series and the company car wallbox remotely, i.e. from anywhere in the world.
Is there a difference between x-series and c-series when using the KEBA eMobility App?
Yes, the range of functionalities of the KeContact P30 x-series and company car wallbox is greater than that of the c-series.
What technical requirements are necessary to be able to connect to my charging station via the KEBA eMobility App?
Connection to the wallbox is fast and easy. Especially if you use the Setup Guide of the KEBA eMobility App. The basic requirement for using the App is that you use a charging station that is compatible with the App.
Connecting to a c-series: The KeContact P30 c-series must be connected to an external router via LAN cable. This may require laying a cable. We recommend having this done by a specialist (e.g. electrician).
Connecting to an x-series or company car wall box: If the x-series has a WLAN Hotspot, cabling with an external router is not absolutely necessary. However, the interface (API) must be activated. If you use the Setup Guide in the App, it will be activated automatically. Alternatively, this can also be done in the web interface.
Which wallbox configurations can I carry out in the KEBA eMobility App?
All configurations that can be set via the web interface can also be made via the App.
Which App features can I expect in the future?
We are constantly expanding the functionality of our App. All KeContact P30 x-series and company car wallboxes can be controlled and monitored remotely, i.e. via the Internet, with one of the next App updates. What should I watch out for when using the KEBA eMobility App with regard to logins and passwords? What is the difference between Web Interface Password, WiFi Hotspot Password and WLAN Password?
To connect to the KeContact P30 x-series or the company car wallbox with the App, you need the password for the web interface. By default, this is the serial number of your wallbox. No password is required for the c-series and P30 GREEN EDITION Germany. The Setup Guide in the App also takes you through the process step by step.
If you want to connect to your x-series or company car wallbox via WLAN Hotspot, you must do this before connecting to the App. To do this, go to the Wi-Fi settings on your smartphone, look for the name of the wallbox hotspots in the list and connect to it. You can find the hotspot's default SSID and password on the configuration label that came with your charging station.
If you are connected to your x-series or company car wallbox via the Wi-Fi hotspot, you also have the option of connecting it to your local Wi-Fi. You will also be asked in the App if you want to do this. Of course, you need the password for your Wi-Fi network to do this.
Can I use the KEBA eMobility App if I already use my charging station operator's app?
You can then also use the App and your operator’s app. In order for this to work, you must ask the operator of the charging station (CPO) for the password of your wallbox (WebUI). You need this to be able to connect to the KEBA App.
What do I have to consider when using the KEBA eMobility App at charging stations that I have received from an operator (CPO)?
In most cases it is not possible to connect your KEBA charging station to the KEBA eMobility App if it is operated by a CPO (Charge Point Operator). The reason is that in this case you most likely do not have the password for the web interface in question.
Which information do I need to successfully connect my KEBA eMobility App with my charging station?
You need the product code to go through the Setup Guide. For the x-series and the company car wallbox, you also need to know the password for the web interface and the hotspot. However, no password is required for the c-series and Germany editions.
What do I have to consider when setting up my KEBA eMobility App?
You must note that there are different requirements for connecting to your KEBA charging station and that not all charging stations work with the App. In addition, the range of functions of the App depends on the charging station used. We definitely recommend that you use the Setup Guide in the KEBA eMobility App. This makes setup as easy as possible.
Do I have to register in order to use the KEBA eMobility App?
No, registration is not required. However, as soon as we also introduce remote control of your wallbox and the portal is available to you, we recommend registering. It offers you a number of advantages and makes managing your charging station even easier.
What costs are incurred when using the KEBA eMobility App?
There are no costs for using the KEBA eMobility App.
What do I do if problems occur during the charging process?
You will receive notifications in the App if there are disruptions during the charging process or if the status of your charging station changes. Troubleshooting can vary significantly: sometimes it is enough to unplug and plug in the charging cable, restart the charging process, restart the charging station or restart the App.
How can I change the name of my wallbox?
You can change the name of your wallbox in the App under Menu > Settings > Device > Change API alias.

How many charging stations can be integrated with the KEBA eMobility Solution for hotels & companies software?
With the license “Package Small” the software can be used with a maximum of 16 charging stations (1x P30 x-series in a charging network with a maximum of 15x P30 c-series as clients).
In general, the license allows that multiple PCs can access / communicate with the same master-client cluster.
In the future, it will be possible to integrate / connect more than 16 KeContact P30 charging stations. For that usage, another license will be necessary (Package Medium, Package Large).
Currently, it is not yet possible to use the solution for multiple charging networks or in combination with an M20 charge management controller.

How can I find out, which IP address the master wallbox (P30 x-series) has?
The IP-address of the wallbox is shown on the display of the P30 x-series at the startup after re-starting the wallbox. When the P30 x-series has been added to the local network (via the web interface or the KEBA eMobility App), the IP address can be seen in the assigned IP-adress list of the DHCP server on the router of that network. The KEBA eMobility Solution for hotels & companies software automatically performs a scan for x-series in the local network. The IP-address of the wallbox should be assigned a fixed IP.
What is the license key of KEBA eMobility Solution for hotels & companies software and where can I find it?
The license key is an alphanumeric code, which must be used to activate the software. It is sometimes also referred to as Ticket-Code. It is printed on the backside of the booklet which is included in the scope of delivery of the KEBA eMobility Solution for hotels & companies software.
How many RFID cards are included in the scope of delivery of the KEBA eMobility Solution for hotels & companies software?
There are 10 RFID cards included in the product packaging.

What does the code mean on the RFID cards?
Every RFID card has a unique identification number (UID). This number is needed to identify the card at hand and for assigning a card name (alias) to that card. The software provides a dedicated menu section for managing RFID cards and names.
Can I use the eMobility Solution for hotels & companies software if I am using an OCPP backend?
We don’t recommend using a backend in combination with the eMobility Solution for hotels & companies in parallel, as this may lead to unwanted behavior, like suspended charging sessions or rejected RFID cards.

Which password(s) do I need to connect the eMobility Solution for hotels & companies software with the master wallbox?
A password is needed, in order to connect to the master wallbox (P30 x-series). For P30 x-series that have software version 1.14 or lower, the password is by default the serial number of the wallbox. For P30 x-series that have software version 1.15 or higher, the password is by default the webinterface password, that can be found on the configuration label enclosed in the packaging of the P30 x-series.

With the entry into force of the Electricity Market Act of 30.06.2016, the definition of the final consumer or the final consumption in §3 No. 25 EnWG has been amended by the words
“the electricity purchased by charging points for electric vehicles is also equivalent to final consumption within the meaning of this Law and the ordinances issued on the basis of this Law”.
As a result of this amendment, natural and legal persons operating charging points will be placed on an equal footing with final consumers. Since this change, operators of charging infrastructure no longer have the status of electricity suppliers or an energy supply company. The electricity supplied to electric vehicles by the charging points is considered as final consumption and not, as previously represented, as electricity purchase within the meaning of the EnWG.
Furthermore, an extension of the exemption catalogue for supplier status (§ 1a StromStV) was made in the Electricity Tax Implementation Ordinance (StromStV). Accordingly, a person who purchases electricity and supplies it exclusively for use by or directly to electrically powered vehicles as final consumers is also not a supplier. This provides legal certainty for the operators of charging points that the sale of electricity to electric vehicles does not trigger any electricity tax obligations of a supplier.
In the judgment Ro 2018/04/0010, the Administrative Court found that an e-charging station is a customer's system directly connected to the public distribution network, to which the vehicle to be charged is only connected for a short time during the charging process. The operator of an e-charging station thus concludes, as it were, as an end consumer, a network usage and electricity supply contract, the vehicle owner is not in a contractual relationship with the network operator. Furthermore, the Administrative Court has found that the supply of electricity to vehicles is not tied to a line and that the operator of an e-charging station is therefore neither an electricity trader pursuant according to § 7 para. 1 no. 65 ElWOG 2010, nor an electricity company according to § 7 para. 1 no. 11 ElWOG 2010. This leads to the conclusion that the operators of recharging points do not incur electricity tax obligations of an electricity trader or electricity undertaking by supplying electricity to electric vehicles.
Can I use the eMobility Solution for hotels & companies software when my wallbox and/or my PC has no internet connection?
Yes! Only during the installation of the software an active internet connection on the PC is required for validating the license key.
How long will updates for the eMobility Solution for hotels & companies software be provided?
Updates will be guaranteed for at least 2 years. Unless otherwise stated, software updates will be provided for longer than 2 years and will be free of charge.
Are there additional costs for using the eMobility Solution for hotels & companies software?
No! Only the initial license fee has to be paid.
What if the KEBA eMobility Solution does no longer show data from the Wallbox?
On the Screen “Request to wallbox timeout” click on “Remove Wallbox System”. If this screen is not shown, head to the Configuration section and click on “Remove Wallbox System”. Then click on “Add a new system”. All available P30 x-series should be found. You can also manually add the P30 x-series via an IP-address.
