What defines a company car charging station?
In many cases, company cars are charged at their drivers’ homes. This allows the vehicle’s overnight downtime to be used and reduces trips to public charging stations, which usually come with higher kWh prices, to a minimum. However, to legally recharge the private charging costs to the employer, a charging station with a legally compliant energy meter is required in both Germany and Austria. For this reason, ADAC took a closer look at precisely these company car charging stations in its test.
Overall rating of 1.6: best result for the KeContact P40
With an overall rating of 1.6, the KeContact P40 outperformed all competitors. It received good to very good ratings in all categories. The areas of safety, features and app performance stood out in particular, achieving top marks. In their conclusion, the testers also emphasise the excellent export capability of the charging data. It is precisely this functionality that makes billing for employees and employers particularly simple and fast.
Not only excellent, but also offering good value for money
In addition, ADAC highlighted in its test report that the best product does not necessarily have to be the most expensive: “The KEBA KeContact P40 secured the test victory […]. At the same time, it is […] among the more affordable charging stations in this comparison, yet still achieves very good results in the categories of safety and features.”
Why the KEBA KeContact P40 is also perfect for home use.
With a KEBA KeContact P40 charging station, it is not only easy and legally compliant to recharge charging costs. This charging station also stands out thanks to many additional features. Here are just a few examples:
- Use (and, if applicable, reimbursement) of surplus PV electricity when a private solar power system is installed
- Automatic use of the lowest electricity prices (spot price charging) in combination with a dynamic electricity tariff
- Clear user assignment via RFID cards when, in addition to the company car, a private electric vehicle is also used
